DESCRIPTION: Parkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, London, 2 day marine chronometer, small gilt plate fusee movement with spotting, spring detent escapement, and chronometer balance with blued steel helical hairspring, silvered Roman numeral dial with wind indicator, blued steel spade and poker hands, screw bezel with flat beveled glass, lacquered brass tub in gimbals, with inner shock proof tub containing movement, all in a mahogany box with brass hardware, the front with mother of pearl plaques, one marked "Re Adjusted by H. H. Heinrich New York", the other with the chronometer number "1460",with original numbered winding key, 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 6 1/2", c 1825
CONDITION: movement with minor scratches and minor, scattered spotting, running well, dial with a few minor spots, minor scratches and a bit dirty, hands good, tub and gimbal with old lacquer, scratches and minor discoloration, shock mount in old lacquer, box refinished, top with split, hinges polished minor loss to infill on Heinrich plaque, key holder replaced, key good. A very nice, early example of this well known firm's work.
